As the full
moon rises
It casts its
light
Over the
deepest recesses
Of my troubled mind
As the shadows
lengthen
In the silvery
glow
I search for
treasures
I may never find
A gentle
breeze
Waves the trees
Like an unknown
hand
Brushing through
the leaves
The soft
flapping of wings
As a family of
bats awaken
The distant howl
Of a lonely
mongrel
A cat screeches
A sound of
something falling
A sudden silence
The earth holds
her breath
It dawns on me
In the solitude
of a moonlit night
Surrounded by
life
I am still all
alone
